Ultrasonic Tactile Display
Undergraduate Thesis Project for BSEE
While visual display have become pervasive in modern society, displays that transmit information via the sense of touch are nearly nonexistent. This research aims to demonstrate how nonpenetrative, focused ultrasound, modulated at low frequencies, could be exploited to deliver tactile sensations on a user's hands. It also demonstrates a method for building a tactile display using commercially available 40KHz ultrasonic transducers.
